API AQUARIUM SALT is made from evaporated sea salt and is a must-have for your aquarium! AQUARIUM SALT promotes fish health by improving gill function, making it easier for fish to breathe. It also provides essential electrolytes that fish need to reach peak colouration and vitality. These electrolytes may be lost each time you perform a partial water change, and will need to be replenished.
Use API AQUARIUM SALT in freshwater aquarium tanks when starting a new aquarium, and any time you perform a water change. Care should be taken when using salt in aquariums with live plants, as some plants may be sensitive.

Aquarium salt has been used by hobbyists and breeders for many years.
It is one of the most effective treatments for a very wide range of fish diseases. It is particularly useful for treating bacterial infections, fungal issues, external parasites including white spot (ich) and many more.
It is important to ensure that your fish can tolerate salt. Some scaleless fish such as loaches can be more sensitive to salt treatments. It is generally believed that Corydoras are intolerant of salt but we have treated many species of Corys with no issues. Salt can also kill live plants, although in our experience, we have found that they recover once the salt has been removed via water changes.
DIRECTIONS: Add 1 rounded tablespoon for every 20 litres of aquarium water.
